Our pitch

NRCA Stadium

Ascrum plays at the NRCA: the National Rugby Centre Amsterdam, the beating heart of Dutch rugby. This is the country's main rugby stadium: it hosts all home internationals for the Dutch national team, houses the headquarters of Rugby Nederland, and is the proud venue for the annual Ereklasse finals and the internationally renowned Amsterdam Sevens. With room for 5,000 spectators, we're proud to call the home of the Dutch national team our home too.

Strength & Conditioning

Gym

We don’t just train with the ball. On-site, Ascrum has its own gym and a dedicated strength & conditioning coach to help you get stronger in the scrum, faster off the line, or simply build up your fitness with professional guidance. There's no need for an expensive gym membership down the road; everything you need is right where you train.

Opportunity &
Equality for All

We are right at home in our 'IJzeren Huisch'. As one of the few rugby clubs with our own clubhouse, we're able to keep beer prices low and party after training or matches with the brave men and women who dare to step inside.

Be careful not to fall asleep on one of the many sofas late at night, though; every now and then, some spare furniture ends up on the winter bonfire. Plus, if we fancy a winter barbecue, we can just host it indoors. Or at least, that used to be the thinking — and if you look (not too) closely, you can still see the evidence inside today.

Our sport

Rugby

Rugby is a grit-and-glory sport at its finest: fifteen players, one ball, and eighty minutes with absolutely nowhere to hide. It's tough and physical on the pitch, but once the final whistle blows, everyone raises a glass together at the bar — a hooligan's game played by gentlemen. There's a position for every shape and size: whether you're big, small, lightning-fast or just incredibly stubborn. You don't need to be a seasoned athlete to get started, and you'll never have to go it alone.
