On tour with Ascrum

Every rugby club goes on tour. Some go once every five years, others every two. At Ascrum, we pack our bags every single year. No skipping a year, no exceptionsu2014just jumping on a bus, ferry, or plane every single season.

Where we head

Sometimes we stay close to home: a weekend in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Dublin, Bordeaux, or Prague. And other times, we go much further. We once travelled all the way to New York, and 2027 is set to be our furthest adventure yet.

2027: Hong Kong

Every five years, during our lustrum, things get extra special. In 2027, we celebrate our anniversary, and that calls for a tour you won't easily forget: Ascrum and the AA are heading to the Hong Kong Sevens together, one of the biggest rugby festivals in the world. A lustrum tour to talk about for years to come at the bar.

With the whole club

We don't just go with a handful of players. We go with everyone: over 100 people, the entire club. Young, old, first team, lower sides, everyone comes along. That is what makes an Ascrum tour so special.

Customs and traditions

For us, a tour is much more than just a weekend away. We have our customs and traditionsu2014and we are purposely not explaining them here. Some things can't be read about; they have to be lived. You will only find out when you're there.

But above all: we play rugby

There will be laughs, drinks, parties, dancing, and plenty of tall tales. But make no mistake, the main event always comes first. We play rugby. Everything on a tour is built around the game. The rest is just a wonderful bonus.
